Astral Communion Druid

Druid Ladder / Wild Control Dream Jank

Sleazebag Score: 5

Description

This is my Astral Communion druid deck!

Use Astral Communion to skip to 10 mana as early as turn 1. The deck is designed to function as well as possible in topdeck mode, with proactive legendaries like Baron Geddon, Chillmaw, Sylvanas Windrunner, Icehowl, Ragnaros, Deathwing and a few nonlegendary minions like North Sea Kraken and Ancient of War to fight for board position from behind, card advantage generating legendaries like Arch-Thief Rafaam, Nexus-Champion Saraad, Nefarian, Ysera, Justicar Trueheart, The Skeleton Knight (Good luck losing a joust! I think my win ratio is over 90%)

The opening mulligan is extremely simple: Mulligan EVERYTHING for Innervate and Astral Communion. I have tried running a Reno version of this deck, but since you HAVE to run two of each of the above I ended up fizzling him too often.

Raven Idol is probably the MVP of the deck. It is removal when you need it, and if you happen to topdeck it after a Communion you can usually get a +5 CMC minion out of it.

Enjoy showing off your massive amounts of dust!

Would you ever consider running something like Coldlight Oracle for more card draw?

Djinniman: I have tried it, and decided to cut it. The problem with Communion druid is managing to stabilize after discarding your entire hand. Giving your opponent more fuel often just let them overwhelm me.

What about Naga Sea Witch in here?

Needs some three drops.

Just take out the doubles and play Reno Jackson.

I would disagree with aforementioned statement. In an Astral Communion deck you have to recover from having nothing, and you have to be able to do this consistently. 15-25 bonus hp from one Reno is not worth sacrificing consistency in a deck which so badly needs it.

Dorotheus: I've tried playing Reno Jackson in the deck, but he didn't work due to Innervate and Astral Communion. Once I cut him I could also run 2x Raven Idol, Ancient of Lore, Azure Drake, Wild Growth and Kraken! I feel those make the deck stronger than being able to Reno did.

Djinniman: Which 3 drops in particular? Coldlight Oracle would probably be the best fit, but you're already far behind in tempo and I really don't enjoy giving them more!

DuTogira: That's pretty clever actually, I'll have to try her out. She doesn't do anything if you are in top-deck mode though, which might be too big a con against her.
